The Three Stages of Mardi Gras, Told with Funny Cat Memes

The Three Stages of Mardi Gras, as Told by Funny Cats

Hello Friday, and hello friend!

Today's #FridayFrivolity theme is "Mardi Gras Madness."  Since basically everything is funnier when told by LOLcatz, here is my interpretation of the three stages of Mardi Gras told by funny kittehs. 😼

Hello Friday, and hello Friends!  This week's theme is funny dogs, in honor of the recent Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, and I've got something a little bit different than usual.... a "caption this!" type photo of my own two adorable puppies!

The timing on this photo just seemed priceless... so, let's caption it!

Here's the most obvious option:

But I'm sure y'all can be more creative than that! 😜  Leave me a comment with your interpretation...  If we get enough funny captions, I'll do a post highlighting them!

Hello Friday, and Hello friends!

This week is all things love and romance and red and pink at the #FridayFrivolity link-up... but rather than a funny post, I decided to put a little different spin on it.

There is a lot of uncertainty and negativity bouncing around our country and world at the moment, and I think it would be kind of nice to balance it out, in some tiny way, with a little deliberate thoughtfulness.  :)

Let's start a Spread Some Love Valentines' Day movement this year, with thoughtful notes and sweet greetings for folks we care about!

Groundhog Day Sillies - #FridayFrivolity

Hello Friday, and hello friends!  Holy moly, my weeks are just FLYING by lately... I can't believe it's Friday already, but I'm really glad to see y'all! 😉

Our winter season in North Carolina so far has been alllllll over the map, so I half think the groundhog is going to be seeing a pink elephant this year instead of his shadow... 'cuz why not??

I ended up buying some short sleeve maternity tops the other day, because I was dying in my sweaters!

Anyway, the warm weather is nice, but also terrifying... *coughglobalwarmingcough*

Oh well... join me for some groundhog themed funnies!

First up, did you hear the verdict?

Random Funny Baby GIFS and Memes to Make You Laugh - #FridayFrivolity

Random Funny Baby GIFS and Memes to Make You Laugh -  #FridayFrivolity

Hello Friday, and hello Friends!  Celebrating my exciting news from a couple of weeks ago, the other #FridayFrivolity hosts thought it would be fun to do baby-related themes for a while... I swear, it was their idea!  They are awesome pals and I appreciate that they are so excited with me. 😃  Our theme for this week -- hilariously useless baby items -- is a little tricky for me though, because honestly how can I know what will be useful or not at this point??  I'm looking forward to garnering useful knowledge from my cohosts' posts, however, and in the meantime, here are some random funny baby gifs, memes, and videos! 😜

She's pretty sure these cookies are delicious... if only she could figure out how to pick them up...

Funny Pregnancy Memes - What NOT to Say to a Pregnant Woman!

Funny Pregnancy Memes - What NOT to Say to a Pregnant Woman!

Hello Friday, and hello friends!

Celebrating my fun news from last week (which none of y'all had ANY inkling of while I showed you my completely non-obvious holiday photos, right?) our #FridayFrivolity themes this month may have gone a little baby crazy... hopefully in a fun way!  Our theme for today's party is "What NOT to say to a pregnant woman."

What NOT to say to a pregnant woman!

According to the interwebz, the #1 most important thing not to say to a pregnant woman is "are you pregnant?"  But I think that is mostly because... what if the answer is no??  Emotional fallout for EVERYBODY involved, oops...

#FridayFrivolity -- Pregnancy Announcement Edition

That's right friends, with a theme of "Pregnancy Announcements" at this week's #FridayFrivolity, we've got big news of the baby-shaped kind to share!  But first, I thought y'all might like to see some of my holiday pictures from this past year... no reason, really!  Just for fun.

First up, Halloween.... my husband and I tried couple-costumes for the first time ever.  What do you think??

#FridayFrivolity New Year's Resolutions 2017

#FridayFrivolity New Year's Resolutions

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you all had a joyful holiday season and are gearing up for a fulfilling, progress-filled 2017.  Our theme at #FridayFrivolity this week is New Year's Resolutions... perfect timing, right??

I posted periodically last year on specific goals / resolutions, but while I think goals can be useful even if they aren't met in their entirety or quite on time -- yay progress in any form! -- 2017 is going to require a pretty big shift in gears for me.  (More on that very soon! 😜 )  Given that, I tried to think more holistically about the changes that are coming, and the things I would like to achieve, and went from there.

If I were to pick one word to define my goals for the coming year, I think it would be "intention."  Y'all know I'm all about living with intention!  ;P  But I think that purposeful-ness will be even more important for me in 2017.  I am so excited to see all the adventures this year will bring!

Childhood Holiday Memories... #FridayFrivolity

5 Favorite Childhood Holiday Memories... #FridayFrivolity

Ahhh the holidays!  I hope everyone has happy childhood memories of the excitement, joy, and togetherness of the season.  Those (hopefully happy) childhood memories are the theme for this week's #FridayFrivolity!

Take a stroll down memory lane with me...

Humorous Christmas memories via Devastate Boredom
Caroling / Christmas Music... was always a big part of our holidays when I was growing up. I think we had to buy a second Mannheim Steamroller tape after wearing out our first... music from the Nutcracker and Nat King Cole's Christmas album were also among our favorites.  And we didn't just listen to Christmas music, oh no!  We went caroling ourselves, armed with candles and a homemade book of our favorite carols, neatly typed and stapled, making the rounds both in our own neighborhood and in those of our grandparents.  My own favorite part of caroling may or may not have been the multiple desserts we enjoyed at each destination, but the singing was fun too.  A particularly funny memory is the time that one set of grandparents didn't hear us right away, so we sang song after song, louder and louder, until half their apartment complex was watching us... and finally our melodic bellowing brought our grandparents out onto their balcony too.  I don't think I want to know what they were doing in there that was so absorbing, rofl, but I half suspect that the story could have even been funnier than we knew at the time...

Christmas Gift Ideas... "As Seen on TV"!

My pal Lisa over at Syncopated Mama chose our #FridayFrivolity theme for this week... "As Seen on TV" items are apparently hot gift items for her family!  ;)  I actually had to do googling to figure out how familiar with this topic I really was... and it turned out to be more than I had thought!

The Clapper -- Ahhh so classic!  My parents had this in their bedroom when I was growing up, and my brother and I thought it was the height of technological innovation!  And, as an added bonus, hugely entertaining.  It was often even entertaining from other parts of the house, hearing my parents clap six or seven times before the recalcitrant light would heed the summons... bahaha!

#FridayFrivolity Wishlist of a Book Worm -- Reading Recommendations!

Wishlist of a bookworm -- good books to read, self-help, parenting, sci-fi, suspense, and fantasy. Reviews of Marissa Meyer Cress, Charlotte Williams House on the Cliff, Danish Way of Parenting, Fellside, Brain Fog Fix, via Devastate Boredom

My pal Audrey over at Munofore picked our theme for tonight's #FridayFrivolity, and I have to admit it caused me a little angst!  I have the same angst every time somebody asks me what my favorite book is... so many books... how am I ever to choose just ONE?

So yea, please don't ever ask me what my favorite book is.  I will probably involuntarily roll my eyes at you, and then feel bad about it later.

However, my current Book Worm Wishlist is pretty easy to pinpoint, because in the end I just decided to share what I have on hold at the library.  ;)  So here goes:

Watch / DON'T Watch - Scary Movie Edition! Halloween #FridayFrivolity

Halloween horror movie reviews -- the WATCH vs DON'T Watch verdicts! Scary fun films Cabin in the Woods and The Visit, from Joss Whedon and M. Night Shyamalan.

I'm a week behind on #FridayFrivolity themes this installment, since the rest of the lovely hosts are doing "Crazy Costumes" and I'm still on "scary movies"... but being a little behind is kinda just how life is right now for me, so I hoped y'all wouldn't mind!  For my "Scary Movies" post, I thought I would do a WATCH vs DON'T Watch, along the same lines as my READ / DON'T Read book review posts... the movies I picked might seem a little random, but one of them I saw over the summer and hated so much that I've been dying to write about rofl, so this post just kinda fell into place from there.

Our movies up for discussion are....

The Visit and Cabin in the Woods.

Inspiration, Gene Wilder Style! #FridayFrivolity

Hello Friday and hello friends!

This week we wanted to honor Gene Wilder, the legendary comic actor and author, who passed away at the end of August.  We were so saddened by his passing and glad to take a moment to remember him.  After all, Gene Wilder will always be the ONLY Willy Wonka for me!

There is SO MUCH amazing Gene Wilder material out there to choose from, but I decided to go with a few of his (or his character's) more inspirational quotes instead.  What can I say, I've been feelin' the inspiration lately.  ;)

The Magical Brew -- COFFEE! Printables and #FridayFrivolity Fun

Hello Friday, and hello friends!

The theme at this week's #FridayFrivolity is that most magical of brews... coffee!

Lately I've been working hard on some new inspirational printables to share with y'all (coming TOMORROW, whaaaaaat!) so I guess it was natural that my mind went immediately to a funny slogan I had on my kitchen wall in my last apartment... "but first, coffee."  Since I have moved since then and the printable didn't survive, I thought I would make my own version to share with all my lovely caffeine-lovin' readers this week!

Behold.

#FridayFrivolity Superheroes Edition! Funnies Plus Stuff I Love...

Hello Friday, and hello friends!

I am SO. BEAT.

I wish I could say that this is why....
But I'm pretty sure nobody would believe me.  ;P

However, our awesome topic at #FridayFrivolity this week IS Superheroes -- I can't wait to see what Munofore, Syncopated Mama, and Babi a Fi will be highlighting!

But as for me, here are just a few quick highlights of superhero-y things I love.

The superhero comic art my husband and I made together soon after we got married...

Superhero t-shirts... of which I own two, currently: Wonder Woman and the Flash.  The first two from this selection are actually pretty similar to the ones I own.  Until recently I also owned a Mighty Mouse t-shirt, which I then recycled into a pretty awesome Mighty Mouse tote bag... Mighty Mouse, sadly, seems to have fallen out of style.

I will leave you with one more Superhero-y funny, and then I'm off to bed... check out the other hosts to keep the hilarious party going all night!
Yeah!  What's with that??

Hello Friday, and hello friends!

We lovely ladies of #FridayFrivolity are unabashedly counting down until Autumn this week.  Yes, we know that the first day of fall is a week off, and yes, it might still be rather unpleasantly warm in our neck of the woods... but our enthusiasm just would not be quelled one more week!!

Hurray for fall!  Hurray for the fabled approach of cooler weather!  And hurray for fun holidays for the next three months!

My Top 5 Favorite Moments from Female Comedians - Iliza Shlesinger, Anjelah Johnson, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler!

Get excited... this past week's #FridayormaybeMondayFrivolity theme is "favorite female comedians"!  In the past we've honored Amy Poehler in particular, but this time we left more room for individual blogger interpretation... and though I was too distracted and busy this weekend to get my post up on time, the topic was too good for me to miss out on!  Don't forget to go swing by Babi a Fi, Munofore, and Syncopated Mama to see what awesome funnies they chose, too!

Extra Wicked this Week! Top 10 things You Should NEVER COMMENT on Social Media #FridayFrivolity

Hello Friday, and hello friends!

Okay, I'm just going to be upfront with you all... I was feelin' extra wicked as I wrote this post!  The #FridayFrivolity theme for the week is a very innocent "letter writing," but I took that poor little theme and stretched it into a very evil interpretation.  "Letter writing" turned into "notes" turned into "comments on social media..."  It made sense at the time, really.

So here is my top secret collection of comments I have been tempted to leave in response to photos posted by folks on Instagram / Facebook / pick your poison.
As a disclaimer, I love photos of my friends, and their babies, and their dogs, and so on.  I very frequently even love photos of random people / babies / dogs.  But occasionally, I look at a snapshot on social media, and think Wicked Thoughts.

If you are extra sensitive to meanness, and have never had a mean thought ever in your whole life, just stop reading now!

(Rest assured, none of these were prompted by photos of people I actually know.  Or at least that's what I'm going to claim.)

The 10 Most Awful Things You Should NEVER COMMENT on Social Media

I maintain that this one isn't even mean... because I'm also complimenting the parents.

Time for a laugh - Funny Diets and Chocolate Memes! #FridayFrivolity Blog Party

Hello Friday, and hello friends!

This week has BLOWN by for me, but here we are again!  And I'm ever so glad to see you, as always.  :)

I will sneak some quick confessions in before we get started... I am way behind on reading y'alls posts from the past couple of link-ups.  :(  I am very sad and sorry for that, and I WILL catch up on my reading and tweet / pin / comment up a mad storm over the weekend, but I just wanted to be honest and apologize up front if you've noticed a distinct lack of Sarah-Eliza in your comment section lately.

Forgive me!!  I'll be by soon to make it up to you, I swear.

This week's #FridayFrivolity theme is food / dieting... and I found some hilarious memes on that topic!  No comment about how my own personal eating habits have looked lately, haha.

First up, if Barney took up body-building... it would be pretty scary.
