Today's #FridayFrivolity fun is supposed to be based on the theme "lies our parents told us" which is a hilarious topic... but when I tried to brainstorm content I got a little stuck. And I kept remembering this video series I had seen recently, which is totally about parents, and growing up... just, ya know, growing up amidst a specific bunch of lovable weirdos... but none of it is a lie... it's all true. So
very, very (occasionally painfully) true. :P
very, very (occasionally painfully) true. :P
The Silmarillion, Adventures in Odyssey, jean jumpers, evil Power Rangers... not saying alllllll of this was true of my "growing up years", but MOST of it was, ahaha.
There's a whole series of these videos... if you watch them all, you're probably a former homeschooler.* ;)
*heaven help us rofl... ^_^ Be sure to comment so you and I can bond over our shared weirdness and compare recovery times...
Now on to the link-up! :D

Thanks so much for hosting! I hope you have an amazing weekend! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks for another great link-up. Your posts always make me smile. As someone formerly home-schooled, I can relate :) Wishing you a very happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThe only lie I recall my Mom telling me when I was little was the if you crossed your eyes the elastics holding them in place would stretch out and your eyes would stay crossed. To this day I hate crossing my eyes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting and Happy Easter!
I hate crossing my eyes too! So funny though... eye elastics... ;P (ick)
DeleteLoved the video. Made me laugh out loud more than once.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. ☺
Glad you enjoyed the chuckle Sandee!
DeleteI love those video series, and as a homeschool Mom, many of it is true! Thanks for hosting! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteHaha yep, they got it pretty dead-on, didn't they? :P
DeleteThanks for hosting and have a great week. I am not a homeschooler but a teacher in a public school.
ReplyDeleteI'm a teacher too! Kindergarten... what about you?
DeleteOk, I'm not a home schooler, but I could identify with a LOT of those!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I don't know is :What's the Silmarillion???
I just HAVE to know!!
Ahahha it's a book by JRR Tolkein... all the mythology of Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit). It is SO BORING. And kind of the ultimate nerdy book.
DeleteGosh, I'd thought that I'd already commented on this, but maybe I just made a comment on FB - anyway, this video cracked me up and even though I didn't truly get all of it, I totally got the vibe! #FridayFrivolity
ReplyDeleteThe kids who made it are super cute, aren't they? ;P
DeleteOh the dubious smears... smashed bugs and chocolate... at least I hoped it was chocolate... ;P
