Yes, I have been known to wax lyrical about Groupon... on more than one occasion. What can I say? I'm just a frugal girl who likes the finer things in life! ;P And Groupon is a perfect fit for the "finer things, on a budget" type of lifestyle.

My Three Favorite Stress Relief Methods, utilizing Health, Beauty, and Wellness Groupons!
1. Yoga classes! Since I've been getting settled into life in a new city lately, the idea of real-life classes is extra appealing to me right now! I still love my online yoga and fitness classes, but sometimes it's such a mental and psychological boost to get out of the house and get to know some new folks.
Note: I especially recommend a real-life yoga class or two if you're new to the "practice," since doing poses with poor alignment can increase tightness and pain rather than relieving it. Once you're familiar with the general principles of good alignment within the poses, it's much easier to switch to independent routines at home.
2. Massages! Oh my goodness, there's nothing like a massage to work the kinks out of a tight back and shoulders... in my area, Groupon massages start at $29. Umm okay, if you insist... ;P

3. Mindfulness! Whether taking the form of meditation or of a "daily three things" type gratitude project, mindfulness can make a huge difference in relieving stress. Currently, there is an online course in mindfulness available on Groupon from the website Skilosology, so if you're new to the idea of using breathing, meditation, etc, as a calming technique this might be perfect for getting you started!

ReplyDeleteActually, I kinda have to psych myself up for it each time... you can't just spring a massage on me, I have to be ready, rofl. I love it once I"m there though!
DeleteI miss doing yoga! I love my body when it's fresh from the hot room of yoga.

ReplyDeleteI love groupon! I love anything that saves me money, I mean what's not to love? I was talking to my friend yesterday and admitted I am cheap, she looked at me and said, thanks for saying that, I'm always nervous to tell people that I'm frugal. I don't see why we shouldn't shout it to the mountain tops that we love to save money, it's a good trait to have. You also inspired me to stream and do some yoga a little late today. Thanks for the inspiration Sarah :)
ReplyDeleteI love yoga! I prefer to do it regularly at home watching 'Yoga with Adriene" on YouTube. She's amazing! :-)
ReplyDeleteI need to start taking advantage of those massage deals. ;)
ReplyDeleteMassages are my favorite form of relaxation. I'll have to check out Groupon for deals. I've never purchased a massage from them before. I love saving money, so I'll definitely be checking that out.
