Winter Plus-Sized Sample Capsule Wardrobe -- Cold Weather Cozy in Olive and Scarlet!

Winter Plus-Sized Sample Capsule Wardrobe

Ahhh in the midst of all my life-craziness, I completely forgot to publish this collection of winter weather capsule wardrobe ideas for all my lovely curvy readers out there... apologies!  My delay might work out in y'alls shopping favor though, however, since a lot of stores are starting to transition the cold-weather inventory out with sales and deals!  And for those who might have missed it, here is where you can find the original cold-weather capsule wardrobe ideas as well.  :)

Here is a static image of the plus-size winter capsule wardrobe for general inspiration  -- keep scrolling for a version with currently shop-able links.

24 items = 165+ outfits, whaaaaaat? These mix-and-match outfits are so flattering for ladies with curves! Plus-size women winter capsule wardrobe ideas and inspiration -- colorful style, minimalist fashion, sample cold-weather French closet for curvy ladies! Cozy plus-sized outfits with balanced bases and layering! via Devastate Boredom

How I Curated This Closet:

Repeating some of the same color themes from my original winter capsule wardrobe, this cold-weather collection features 5 balanced bases in tan and black, 3 layering pieces in grey and white, and 16 tops in olive, red, and black.  I've seen black-on-black done gorgeously a lot this winter, so I'm going to go ahead and count those among the possible mix-and-match outfit combinations for this wardrobe... making these 24 items into a grand total of 165+ outfits!

That total actually COULD be as many as 240 different outfits, but the grey poncho will cover whatever is underneath it effectively enough that I only counted it as providing another 5 outfit options.  I liked it a lot so I kept it in, but if you added a different grey or white layering sweater / blazer / vest instead, you'd have another wealth of possible outfit combos in your minimalist capsule wardrobe!  Such is the power of effective layering and varying your silhouettes. 😉

And if your mind is spinning -- "balanced bases, what??" "effective layering, huh?"  "varying your silhouettes, come again?" -- then you're going to want to check out my ebook, Secrets of the Capsule Wardrobe!  You can start with my series "How to Curate a Happy Confident Closet" if you'd rather, but keep in mind those posts are basically the incomplete rough draft of what evolved into my shiny e-book... Secrets of the Capsule Wardrobe is the Perfected Guide to finding your personal style and building a effortless, confidence-inspiring, non-boring capsule wardrobe, step-by-step! It also contains never-before-published information on how to avoid the three most common mistakes that will SABOTAGE your Capsule Wardrobe, how to continue to curate your collection of clothing by purposeful shopping in the future, a whole chapter on the role of accessories in your minimalist closet, and more.

    1. Ooooh the next one I do will totally have purple as one of the accent colors, just for you! ;) It will have to be non-winter too, since your "winter" is when you have to wear socks, right? For some reason a photo you posted last year of your winter socks stuck in my head really clearly... hahaha!

  9. Sarah, love your fashion taste. The pieces look great, work together well, the colors are so pretty. They would look good on almost any skin tone. A capsule wardrobe is such a great idea, having fewer pieces in your closet, all that work together to mix and match. So cool!
