Yay for Friday Frivolity!! I'm excited it's Friday, excited for the weekend, excited for our new host at the party, and excited you're here!
Wait, what was that I said?? New host?? Why yes, we are SO happy to welcome Jessica from Babi a Fi to the Friday Frivolity family! Jessica is an awesomely fun blogger from Wales... see below to read all about her, and be sure to stop by and say hello!!
Our theme for this week's party is wild animals... I couldn't decide if I wanted to go in the funny memes direction or cool photos direction, so I just did both. ;P Enjoy!
Best. chair. EVER!

What a great story prompt too, yes? Hmmm that makes me wonder... anybody down for doing a fiction writing link-up? I'll totally start one if so, and this could be our first prompt...
Another beautiful "awwww..."
Accidentally, this is becoming an "all about elephants" post... ;P
Elephant / tech funny...
That photo reminded me that some people think that one of the sightings of the Loch Ness monster might have been an elephant, bathing in the loch. Apparently there was a circus in the area about that time, which makes it slightly more likely. I have to wonder about that theory though... did the elephant trip and drown? Because otherwise it seems like the person taking the photo would have stuck around and noticed the freaking huge ELEPHANT climbing out of the water a few minutes later, and maybe put two and two together?
Still a fun picture though...
From there I ended up on this funny (non-elephant) Nessie cartoon...
My other "wildlife" favorites include this hilarious one that always makes me laugh but is NSFW (cursing), this very "meta" lion photo that I'm pretty sure has copywrite restrictions, and this lion and little girl having breakfast that is DEFINITELY copywrite protected. Love them though!

Jamie is SUCH a lovely person, and that really shines through in encouraging ways in this post. I also love how she shares a brief moment of connection that made a big impact on her, and offers three words that you can use to pass on encouragement to other moms. Though I'm not a mom yet myself, I can see how those moments of compassion and connection would make such a difference! Thanks for the inspiration, Jamie. :)

DeleteThanks for the party Sarah! I got here this week. Sorry I missed it last week. I've been so, so busy. I got a job, a paid job. No, not yelling or wearing a Care Bear costume. Working in my children's school canteen! I think I might've preferred the Care Bear impersonator job quite frankly! LOL Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteAnne xx
Yayyyyyy for the job, Anne!! How has it been going? Do you see your kids much? Better question, do they acknowledge that they know you?? ;P This job sounds better than the Care Bear Impersonator to me, those costumes must get so HOT!
DeleteThank you for the party!
ReplyDeletemany greetings
Uwe
I just had to add my wonderful Elephant story to your theme. This was one of the most wonderful day trips I have ever done. Thanks for hosting and all your work.
ReplyDeleteKathleen
I LOVED your photos and post, so I'm so glad you added it to the linky!! Fingers crossed I can do something similar some day!
DeleteAw, such cute elephant photos. Those gentle giants are adorable. I wish people stop using them for circus or anything else that make them suffer. They don't deserve it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the girl reading sitting on the elephant's leg. Cuteness overload.
I love that one tooooooo! And I agree, so upsetting to hear about wild animals suffering... the stories about elephants being killed by poachers for their tusks is the worst. :( So upsetting!
